This is a raw denim that has not been pre washed, and will shrink significantly if it is washed. The tag on these pants from Roark recommends never washing them, but if you plan on washing them, to go up a size or two.
We tested the shrinkage
Evan is typically a 34" waist, so he went with a 36", and washed it in cold water, and then hang dried it. After hang drying they were still a smidge too big, but still slightly damp in the pockets, so he ran it through the dryer on delicate for about 10 min and they fit perfectly now. The inseam also shrank a couple of inches.
