The Opinel folding knife was developed in the 1890, Savoy France. 130+ years later, the knifes remain mostly true to their original design, and they are still made in the French Alps.
It's a classic knife with a simple design and it does light duty job really well. Open packages, slice up food at a picnic, sharpen a pencil or whittle a face into a stick, this is your knife.
This is also not a knife that makes an aggressive statement; you can use it in polite company without raising any eyebrows.
Razor sharp out of the box, the steel is easy to sharpen and holds it's edge well.
The Virobloc® safety ring collar locks the blade closed or open.
